Soufrière, James Bond’s sailing yacht

Soufrière is a model of Spirit 54, Spirit of Tradition Yacht built in England by shipyard Spirit Yachts.

These boats, entirely crafted in wood and coated with apoxy resin were designed both for family cruising use and for races.
Soufrière became popular in 2005, when it was temporarily transferred in the Venice canals in order to appear in James Bond’s “Casino Royale” with Daniel Craig as leading actor.
The 16,7 meters boat in mahogany and teak can accommodate up to six people thanks to two cabins with en-suite bathroom.
This model is powered by a 54 horsepower Yanmar diesel engine, and it is a unique piece built by shipyards of Ipswich’s Spirit Yachts in Suffolk.
In 2006 it was purchased by Stephen O’Flaherty and was transferred near to Howth Yacht Club, in Ireland to take part in 2007 racing season.
The boat was restored and equipped for regattas once more by shipyard Spirit Yachts in 2008.
In 2009 Soufrière took part in British Classic Yacht Club Regatta of Cowes, where it won Spirit Trophy.
