Elegance in Forte dei Marmi
On Friday, October 3rd, at 9:30 a.m., the 20 beautiful vintage cars, supercars, and youngtimers gathered in Montalto Pavese to participate in the sporting event, reserved for a limited number of teams, to foster a genuine sharing of experiences.
Coming from Milan, Bologna, Marche, Veneto, Switzerland, Piedmont, and Monte Carlo, participants collected their race stamps, gadgets, and completed the necessary procedures at the hall set up by Agriturismo LA COLOMBINA.
A hearty breakfast of cappuccino, coffee, pastries, and croissants reinvigorated the participants, who had already traveled a long distance.
A splendid sunny day, illuminating the green bastion of the Pavia hills, had everyone in high spirits and ready to tackle the timed skill tests at 10:15 a.m.
The caravan's route passed through the heart of the picturesque and evocative Pavia region, amidst rows of vineyards heavy with grapes, which produce the famous local wine.
This part of the itinerary ended in GRAZZANO VISCONTI, the scenic neo-Gothic town in the province of Piacenza, which surrounds the authentic 14th-century CASTLE that once belonged to the VISCONTI family.
At the beginning of the 20th century, Giuseppe VISCONTI di MODRONE—father of the fascinating director LUCHINO VISCONTI—(who hasn't seen the film "The Leopard"?) repurposed the rural structures around the fortress, creating a picturesque medieval village.
This site, usually closed to vehicular traffic, was opened to accommodate our cars.
The second skill tests were held inside the village courtyard.
Lunch, at 1:30 PM, was served at the IL BISCIONE restaurant, a noble and refined medieval-style setting, with a menu of delicious Piacenza specialties.
A short visit to the castle followed, framed by all the cars parked along the avenue leading to the noble residence: a spectacular scenic backdrop that would have thrilled even the great director.
At 3:30 PM, the caravan departed for SALSOMAGGIORE TERME, where the local police welcomed and escorted them to Parco Mazzini, whose area had been closed to traffic to allow for the third skill test session.
Then, all the crews headed to the Grand Hotel for a well-deserved rest and a rejuvenating and revitalizing spa treatment.
At 8:30 PM, the glamorous evening with the Gala Dinner took place.
On Saturday, October 4th, we set off for the CISA PASS, reaching 1,041 meters above sea level and enjoying the view of a beautiful high-altitude landscape.
It was particularly exciting to find ourselves where ENZO FERRARI—in great secrecy—had his powerful prototypes tested.
The town of Poggio di Berceto is now called POGGIO FERRARI.
Here, around 11:00 a.m., we had a hearty and varied break with freshly baked coffee.
Then, we raced down the slopes of Lunigiana, toward Forte dei Marmi, where, on a beach bathed in sun and the gentle autumn light, a delicious fish lunch awaited us, with the salty aroma of a rough, foaming sea.
But stormy Neptune looked benevolently upon the beautiful Company of the Scuderia Montenapoleone, who were enjoying a moment of serenity, convivial pleasure and sharing of beauty.
At 4:30 PM, the Hotel IL NEGRESCO welcomed the participants for a short break.
A shuttle, kindly provided by the hotel, took the ladies to the Salotto della Versilia, the center of Forte dei Marmi, where the luxury and fashion shops are particularly exciting.
Some, more sporty, preferred to reach the city by bicycle, also provided by the hotel.
Upon their return, an excellent aperitif brought together all the guests of MILANO è FORTE dei Marmi, for a dinner at the hotel, with background music inspired by the '60s and '80s...
Let's go to the beach...Summer is ending...The taste of salt, the taste of the sea...!
On Sunday, October 5th, under a summer sun, at 9:30 a.m., the BERTELLI FOUNDATION welcomed us for a tour of the Museum, accompanied by its President.
At 11:00 a.m., a surprise awaited the participants: the triumphant entry into the LA CANNICCIA CIRCUIT, an exclusive and elite venue.
With the race director, a spectacular kermesse was held, with four laps per competitor. A truly thrilling experience for the Drivers and the entire team, thrilled by the venue and the performances.
Within the LA CANNICCIA circuit, an elegant restaurant/bar welcomed our Drivers for a coffee break.
At 1:30 p.m., lunch followed, with the awards ceremony and final farewells, tinged with a touch of melancholy, as there was still a desire to be together with the friends of the Scuderia Montenapoleone and to continue experiencing the shared emotions.
