Giorgio Armani: genius of Italian creativity
Auto
The passing of Giorgio Armani at 91 leaves an immense void not only in the world of fashion, but also in all those sectors that have intersected with his aesthetic vision over the years, even the automotive sector.
Giorgio Armani began his first automotive collaboration 22 years ago with Mercedes-Benz, presenting to the public a special edition Mercedes-Benz CLK Cabriolet, produced in just 100 units. A true bespoke "sewing": neutral tones, fine leather, minimal details. The same philosophy, the same as his tailored collections, translated to a car designed for an elite audience, capable of appreciating discretion over excess.
More recently, Armani forged a partnership with Fiat, specifically in 2020 with the creation of a one-off Fiat 500e, created as a one-off for charity, benefiting Leonardo DiCaprio's Earth Alliance. Even then, sustainability was key: eco-friendly materials, natural paints, and a minimalist approach were used. From that prototype, the idea of creating a limited series was born: the Fiat 500e Giorgio Armani Collector's Edition, unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show in 2024. Only 500 units were produced at the Mirafiori plant.
Not just cars. Armani also created a capsule collection with Bugatti, featuring top-of-the-line clothing and leather goods.
Armani has always maintained a style based on discreet elegance, pure lines, and luxurious materials without ever being ostentatious.
Cars outfitted by Armani are and will always remain refined design objects.
