The "Riva Days RHS - ASI Nautic Show RSI - Concorso d'eleganza Frederique Constant" officially concluded on Sunday, July 6, 2025, with a costume parade between Como and Cernobbio themed "Renzo and Lucia," the main characters in Alessandro Manzoni's "The Betrothed." The event is the largest and most attended international gathering of Riva motorboats in the Mediterranean, the legendary vessels born on Lake Iseo and now spread throughout the world. The event was organized by the Riva Historical Society ASD (FIM - CONI), the international federation founded in 1998 and chaired by Milanese architect Piero Maria Gibellini, which brings together 13 departments and approximately 700 members from over 30 countries across five continents, together with the Riva Society Italia (ASI).
Around thirty boats from Italy, Switzerland, Germany, France, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and the United States were displayed at the Yacht Club Como, AeroclubComo, Villa Parravicini Revel, the Ernesto Riva shipyard in Laglio, the Cernobbio municipal pier, and Villa d'Este. All the wooden models built by Carlo Riva were represented, including the Aquarama, the Super Aquarama, the Aquarama Special, the Super Tritone, the Super Florida, the Ariston, the Super Ariston, the Junior, the Olympic, and even a Rudy, the fiberglass version of the Junior. The event was sponsored by the Yacht Club Como, the ASI (Automotoclubstorico Italiano), and the high-end watch brand Frederique Constant. Technical sponsors were Riva Classiche, Marlin Boats, Vitale Barberis Canonico, and Bavaria. "The event," as noted by ASI Federal Councilor Marco Galassi and Claudio Tovaglieri, head of the Nautical-Powerboating-Aeronautics Section, "is part of the ASI Tricolore Circuit, a gathering worthy of high regard." Special thanks go to Achille Sauchelli, director of the Powerboating Section of the Como Yacht Club, and to the support equipment provided by Como Classic Boats and the Marlin 40 maxi inflatable boat from the Marlin Boats shipyard.

Riva Days Como 2025: The Ariston "Typ One" wins Best in Show.

The Riva Ariston Typ One, owned by German owner Marco Schoessler and number 699, launched in 1965, won the coveted "Best in Show" award. The prize was awarded to the boat that most impressed the jury, composed of Gioacchino Favara, president of the Como Yacht Club, Loredana Pivelli, vice president, Paolo Sciarra, treasurer, and Fabio Scudeletti. The Riva Typ One featured the characteristic hoops of the Como boats, making it resemble a typical Lucia on Lake Como. The owner also received a prestigious silk poncho and a tie by designer Pierangelo Masciardi.

The Riva Olympic Elisabetta, number 30 from 1971, won the Concours d'Elegance after the parade in period costume from the "Promessi Sposi" era, held on Sunday morning, July 6th, between the Yacht Club Como and Cernobbio. Its crew, composed of Como natives Emanuele Noseda and Nicole Ganzetti, engaged to be married in every sense of the word because they are about to get married, also won the award for youngest crew. While Massimo Sordi's 1971 Super Ariston won the Carlo Riva Cup among the single-engine boats, the Aquarama Special Riva Dry, number 767 from 1992, was awarded the same trophy in the twin-engine category. Since 2022, the boat has belonged to the writer and business consultant Bernd Thomsen, a German from Hamburg, who found it in the Netherlands and who, curiously, was born on the same day and month as Carlo Riva... but forty years later. The award for the smallest, rarest, and oldest vessel went to the Scoiattolo Goia, a 1957 outboard motor. Its owner, Perugian Mauro Pacioselli, who has also been president of the Riva Society Italia since 2023, found it in 2010 at the Ercole Archetti shipyard on Lake Iseo. It is the 128th Scoiattolo built and one of approximately ten registered today.
The second oldest vessel was the 1958 Florida "Tender to Rhea," while the most recent vessel was the 1996 Aquarama "Riva Classiche" (number 784), the last one built, owned by the Riva Shipyard. Also honored was the Riva Rudy number 240 Sara, built in fiberglass in 1975, found on Lake Garda and now owned by German Florian Gebhart. In order to continue using it on Lake Starnberg, where it is mandatory to only use low-impact engines, he had to replace the engine with a more modern 250-horsepower Mercury. His passion for classic motoring began in 2012, when he purchased Ariston number 666, followed by another 1973 Riva Rudy, the 1976 Riva St. Tropez number 33, and an Aquarama... purchased after discovering it was number 240, just like his Rudy.
