BMW 327/28 Cabriolet 1938, will be the protagonist of the OldCar24 stand at Techno Classica Essen 2025
A rarity produced in only 569 examples, it is considered by the greatest experts and collectors to be one of the most beautiful convertibles of the pre-war period.
The BMW 327/28 Cabriolet is one of the most sought-after cars by collectors around the world, for the beauty of its line and its rarity, in original condition.
This high-end car was built by the Bavarian company between 1937/38, in only 569 examples, before the Second World War, and was a status symbol for many high society figures in Nazi Germany.
The strengths of this car are being a luxury cabrio and a sports car with an 80 horsepower six-cylinder engine, the same engine as the BMW 328, which at the time achieved many successes in the racing field. A perfect combination of elegance and performance that already at the time allowed the 327/28 to reach a top speed of 145 km/h.
The very rare and valuable BMW 327/28 that you will admire in our stand at Techno Classica Essen 2025, was imported into Italy from the United States more than 25 years ago, becoming part of an important collection. It has been restored and is preserved in perfect condition and in excellent mechanical condition; the engine has been subject to frequent overhauls and maintenance over time, with the replacement of some components to ensure the best efficiency of the car. The interiors restored by experts maintain the charm you feel unaltered; sitting inside the passenger compartment you have the sensation of being immersed in a 1930s atmosphere, given by the presence of solid wood inserts on the door panels, the white three-spoke Bakelite and metal steering wheel, the classy interior knobs, the complete and overhauled dashboard instrumentation, which give a timeless elegance. All the finishes are of the highest level. To keep weight down, the 328 body was made almost exclusively of aluminum alloy, except for the steel sheet fenders.
The BMW 327/28 represents a safe investment as well as being a classy and easy-to-drive car.
You can admire the protagonist of the report on sale at Techno Classica Essen on the OldCar24 stand in pavilion 5, from 9 to 13 April 2025.
