Milano AutoClassica is endless passion: another record-breaking edition achieved

Milan, 18 November 2024 – The fourteenth edition of Milano AutoClassica – Classic and Sports Car Show closed yesterday, with a result above expectations. The large turnout in the elegant pavilions of Fiera Milano Rho, the quality of the exhibition, the enthusiasm of the enthusiasts, the variety of cars on display and the unique atmosphere confirmed the event as a point of reference for lovers of vintage cars. Edition after edition, Milano AutoClassica attracts an increasingly larger and more passionate audience, made up of expert collectors, the simply curious, families and young people discovering the world of motors. And since its first edition, the event has aimed precisely at the breeding ground of young enthusiasts, potential collectors of tomorrow, intercepting new market trends and offering opportunities for discussion.

Over the three days of the event, the MAC NEXT GEN (Milano AutoClassica Next Generation) area, the incubator hub dedicated to new collectors, generated a large turnout of young people, with demonstrations and displays of elaborate supercars, privately owned modifications and the stance world.
The rich exhibition offering, which ranges from historic models to the latest innovations, stands out for the selective quality of the offering. This, combined with an increasingly rich calendar of collateral events, contributes to making the experience unique and unforgettable and the numbers confirm this. Over 82,000 visitors, great satisfaction for the Exhibitors, over 600 accreditations from the Italian and foreign press, 4,500 cars offered at the fair, 1,000 cars registered at the rallies, increased partners and brands present with four absolute previews, growth in the spare parts area and vintage accessories and the private sector has grown, with a wide range of cars, including affordable deals for every wallet.

The satisfaction of the organizers is palpable. ”The love for classic and sports cars is a passion that unites generations and Milano AutoClassica celebrates this endless passion, offering visitors an engaging experience, to relive unforgettable moments or to give a dream, comments Andrea Martini, President of Milan Classic Car. Through exhibitions, debates, meetings with witnesses of vintage motoring and with representatives of the world of tuning, we aim to train the new generations, raising their awareness of the importance of the automotive heritage". The Queens of the event, dedicated to the world of Endurance, are three unforgettable legends of the House of Prancing Horse, starting with the 1987 Ferrari F40 LM, a true cult object for enthusiasts, here in the racing version. The fruit of the Ferrari Style Centre, the 2023 499 P is an iconic thoroughbred sports car. Finally, the Ferrari 512 BB LM which made its debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1978, built in just 27 examples.

This year we celebrated important birthdays , 70 years of the Mercedes Benz 300 SL W198.

During the three days of the event, there will also be numerous opportunities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta, with the first series of the Sprint, the "girlfriend of Italy", i.e. the first Alfa Romeo with a female name to win the approval of the large public.
There was also a huge crowd in honor of the first 40 years of the Ferrari Testarossa, an iconic car imprinted in the collective memory, with particular interest in car number 3, exhibited at the Rossocorsa stand, the original model presented at the 1984 Paris Motor Show.
The calendar of meetings from Friday to Sunday organized by the category federations is rich and varied: the meeting areas of ACI Storico, in Pavilion 12 and of ASI Automotoclub Storico Italiano, in Pavilion 16, hosted exhibitions, talk shows and awards, alongside stories and testimonies from renowned Italian and international representatives, to celebrate all the best of vintage motoring.

On Saturday 16 November, there was also a large turnout at the first joint meeting of the monthly magazines of ACI Editore Youngclassic with Automobileclassica, dedicated to cars from the 1950s to the 2000s. Furthermore, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint, some categories were awarded specials dedicated to the first generation Giulietta from the fifties and sixties up to 1962 (Sprint, Spider, etc.) alongside the versions made starting from 1977, up to the most recent Giulietta of 2010. On Saturday 16 November to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Ferrari Testarossa, a parade of over 30 Ferrari Testarossas arrived at the Fair, parking in the square in front of the South Gate entrance and attracting the attention of all visitors in transit.
The Fratelli Cozzi Museum exhibited the preview exclusively for Milano AutoClassica of the third edition of the photographic exhibition “Women and Motors? ...joys and that's it” against gender stereotypes, created by Elisabetta Cozzi, President of the Museum. The theme of the exhibition is "sisterhood", through twenty images, signed by Camilla Albertini, of female personalities next to Alfa Romeos belonging to the Museum, to confirm that an elegant and respectful combination between cars and women can coexist.
For the fourth consecutive year, Ruoteclassiche has proclaimed the Best in Classic, i.e. the most deserving cars, men, places, projects and works in the automotive heritage world, which have stood out over the last twelve months. Nine categories were awarded: Classic Car of the Year, Classic Car of Tomorrow, Restoration of the Year, Restomod of the Year, Reloaded, Event of the Year, Race of the Year and Collection of the Year. To these were added two special prizes awarded by the editorial staff, one for Lifetime Achievement and one for the supporter of Historic Motoring. As usual, readers and users elected Classic Car of the Year and Classic Car of Tomorrow through the survey carried out on the Ruoteclassiche Instagram channel. The other awards were decreed by the jury of experts chaired by the director Gian Luca Pellegrini and this year composed of Lorenza Bravetta, Monica Mailander, Valentino Balboni, Walter Bertelle, Ronnie Kessel, Marco Makaus and Angelo Sticchi Damiani.
