Porsche 911 SWB in blue livery, elegant and multi-victorious, will be presented on the OldCar24 stand at the Auto Moto D'Epoca Bologna 2024
The 911 SWB boasts a simple shape, yet so perfect and timeless, which has remained unchanged since its birth, we are faced with the quintessential sports coupé.
The elegant example of Porsche 911 SWB, in blue livery on display, is part of the first series of this model, called "short wheelbase" (SWB).
The design is closer to the original "901".
In 1963, the conceptual model of the 911 was exhibited at the Frankfurt Motor Show under the acronym "901" and production began in 1964.
For reasons of friction with the competition, the acronym was changed to "911". This Gran Turismo sports car is the product of long technological and stylistic research since 1959.
Ferry Porsche took care of the engine and entrusted the design planning to his son Ferdinand Alexander, known as “Butzi”.
Among the different versions of the 911, the first series with a 2,000 cc engine and short wheelbase chassis are among the most appreciated, as the progenitor of a true legend, which in these first series are characterized by interesting details in the eyes of more demanding collectors.
