Preview of the rare Lancia Aurelia B24 convertible which will be exhibited in the OldCar24 stand at the Auto e Moto D'Epoca Bologna 2024 fair

Elite car, it was commissioned by engineer Gianni Lancia (Vincenzo Lancia‘s son), the audacious entrepreneur who created some of the greatest models in Italian automotive history.
Produced from 1950 to 1958, the Spider and later Convertible version was designed by a group of talented designers, including Aldo Brovarone.
The first example was entrusted to the Pinin Farina body shop.
The design is in line with the aesthetics of the 1950s, which opposed the austere and harsh pre-war shapes with fluid and curvilinear shapes,which pleasantly welcome the eye and touch.
It is the aesthetics of lightness,of elegance expressed by the undulating profile without interruptions, by the width and curvature of the windshield.
The front, with Lancia „ scudetto“ grille, has wraparound chromed bumpers; in the„ tail“ the American“ fins, as was used then, are barely hinted at; the doors are large with external handles; the luggage compartment is spacious and can be opened inside.
Various versions of this car have been produced; this is equipped with a hardtop, supplied as an option.
The B24 Convertible(1957) was the sports car much appreciated not only by italians, but also abroad, eapecially in America.
It was one of Brigitte Bardot‘s cars and, in the version called Aurelia, was chosen in 1962 by Dino Risi, as co- star in his it film „ il sorpasso“, which became famous for the interpretations of  V. Gassman, J Louis Trintignant and Catherine Spaak.
