Glastron GT 150, 007's boat used in the film "Live and Let Die"
We present to you one of the very rare 26 examples produced in 1972
The Glastron GT-150 used in the Roger Moore chase scene in Live and Let Die was probably 007's most action-packed water ride, 10 minutes at speed through the inland waters of the Louisiana Bayou, with the explosion of the boat in the name of His Majesty.
To escape his pursuers, Roger Moore at the helm of the Glastron GT 150 made a spectacular jump of over 36 meters, over Sheriff JW Pepper's police car, before landing on the other side of the swamp, creating one of the most spectacular scenes of the 007 saga.
This long leap was also included in the Guiness des Records.
26 Glastron GT-150s were used for filming, probably to replace those destroyed during the action scenes.
The Glastron GT 150, which had set the record, was sold immediately after the shooting on October 16, 1972.
It is the only model that can be identified as being used for the film. One of the surviving examples belongs to the Ian Flemming Foundation and is visible at the London Film Museum in the James Bond Vehicle Exhibition, the other example in our service appears to be the only one in Italy.
The surviving examples of Glastron GT 150 can be admired in these museums:
London Film Museum
James Bond 007 Museum
National Motor Museum - Beaulieu France
Los Angeles California Petersen Automotive Museum
Bond In Motion in London
