Marina Genova, the 2nd Classic Boat Show concluded

Everything could be visited, sold or rented from private individual to private individual, without any commission being paid to the organization of the event. This is the spirit with which the second edition of the Classic Boat Show was archived, an open-access event held from 17 to 19 May 2024 at the international tourist port Marina Genova at the same time as the sixteenth edition of the Mediterranean Yacht Garden exhibition-market & Garden.
Also this year Daniela Cavallaro, creator and curator of both events, said she was satisfied with the success of an event destined to develop even more in the future. “The second edition of the Classic Boat Show”, recalled Cavallaro, “confirmed the intention to continue along this direction. We thank all the shipowners, exhibitors, speakers and representatives of this sector who did not want us to miss out on their precious support". Giuseppe Pappalardo, CEO of Marina Genova, also highlighted: "I would also like to extend my thanks to all the marina staff whose tireless dedication has allowed the initiative to be a complete success."

110-70-60-50-30. These are the five birthdays of the boats present at the second edition of the Classic Boat Show. The oldest was the 18-metre gaff ketch Tirrenia II, launched in 1914 by the English shipyard H.R. Stevens of Southampton, in the south of England, designed by Frederick Shepherd. In 2016 the boat was taken over by the owners Alessandra Della Betta and Luigi Spaggiari and underwent a restoration carried out by the Francesco Del Carlo Naval Shipyard in Viareggio which lasted three years. The celebratory party on Friday was dedicated to her. 70 years have passed since the launch of Brick II, over 16 meters long, a Bermudan sloop launched in 1954 which has always sailed in the upper Tyrrhenian Sea and was based in Genoa. The gaff schooner Amore Mio, 60 years after its launch at the Franchini shipyard in Riccione, returned to the Classic Boat Show with its owner, Lino Tirelli, who was also celebrating a quarter of a century of ownership of the boat. Half a century since the launch of Chaplin, the Bermudan cutter built in 1974 by the Sangermani shipyard in Lavagna based on a design by Carlo Sciarrelli from Trieste, donated in 2008 to the Navy by the Genoese Novi family. Finally, Pandora, a schooner with wooden cages from 1994. Having arrived in Italy in 1995, it was seized, sunk, sold at auction and subsequently recovered. She won numerous international sailing regattas and was used for the filming of "The Lions of Sicily - The Florio saga", 'Elisa di Rivombrosa', 'Hornblower', 'N io e Napoleone' by Paolo Virzì. Since 2012 it has been part of the A.S.D. Traditional Sailing fleet, which uses it for seafaring education cruises. Other boats present include Magim, Half Moon, Festina Lente, Ma Dai, Quarta Santa Maria, Paulena, Lady Mary, Seven Seas and the Over the Rainbow motoryachts from 1930 as well as Red and Silver Lass, both built by the Scottish Silver shipyard in 1947 respectively and in 1961. On display on land is the 7 meter long FAP 23 from the Venetian shipyard of the same name owned by the Pesce family, which has chosen to continue the tradition of wooden shipbuilding thanks also to the collaboration with Gianni Dalla Pietà.
