The exhibition on iconic cars from cinema and comics, CULT CARS & MOVIES, will be held at Lingotto Fiere from 13 to 21 April 2024.
The car, the cinema, the author's comics. A winning combination, which has popularized many cars that have become iconic.
Who doesn't remember the accountant Fantozzi (created and played by Paolo Villaggio) and his Bianchina, protagonists of hilarious misadventures?
This 1969 A112 superutility was an all-Italian "mini" produced by Auto Bianchi.
The brainchild of Turin motoring maestro Dante Giacosa, the Bianchina was a testament to Italian engineering. With eight series and numerous versions, it left an indelible mark. The exhibition proudly showcases the red and white off-road vehicle, a star in the most-watched film in cinema history: Jurassic Park. Yes, it's the Jeep Wrangler (1986), relentlessly pursued and ultimately destroyed in a horrifying sequence by the menacing Dilophosaurus!
You can admire the Jaguar E-type up close, used by the viral crime genius Diabolik, the main character of the Italian "nero" comic (1964).
For fans of the detective genre, the "Magnum's Ferrari" is on display, the Ferrari 308 GTS supercar, which starred with CIA agent Thomas Magnum in the highly successful 1980-1988 US television series.
The Mini Morris Cooper could not be missing among the many four-wheeled stars. Three examples: in 1969, dodged very quickly under the elegant Turin porticoes, led by the fascinating Rossano Brazzi, Raf Vallone and the British Michael Caine.
The director was the Englishman Peter Collison, who also raced the Mini on the famous Lingotto track.
The film? "The Italian Job" or "Italian shot".
