Marina Genova, dates announced for 2nd Classic Boat Show
The blue of the sea and the green of the Mediterranean garden, the white of the sails and the mahogany of the woods of the boats that have made yachting history.
It will be possible to experience and see all this from 17 to 19 May 2024 at Marina Genova, the international marina, (www.marinagenova.it) on the occasion of the second edition of the Classic Boat Show, the Boat Show devoted to traditional seamanship that will be held at the same time as Yacht & Garden, the Mediterranean garden exhibition now in its sixteenth edition. This is a unique opportunity for boat owners and captains, who will be able to freely display their sail or motor boat here, in the water or on a road trolley, to be visited by the public even for the purpose of sale or hire, without commissions to the organisation. The same opportunity will be given to artists, modellers, painters, operators, and craftsmen in the sector, for whom space will be reserved on land to display their works. The Classic Boat Show therefore promises to be a great festival of vintage boating, which can help bring many enthusiasts closer to the world of classic boats in the pre-summer period.
For boats that decide to participate in the second edition of the Classic Boat Show, the organisation will offer free mooring for 10 days, which includes the days of the event, 17-18-19 May 2024, with the possibility of staying at the quay from the weekend before (11 and 12 May) and until the Monday after the event closes (20 May). Crews and exhibitors will be hosted at a buffet dinner dedicated to Ligurian cuisine, with an open bar and musical entertainment, and will be able to take part in all side events. There will also be agreements with Marina Genova's bars and restaurants. Upon request, it will be possible to anticipate or extend the mooring at special conditions. In view of the limited number of boats hosted and stands available, admission to the Genoa Boat Show will be assessed in advance by the Organising Committee, after having sent an application form to: cavallaro@marinagenova.it or murolo@marinagenova.it, indicating Classic Boat Show, the name and photo of the boat or activity, and a contact person.
Numerous categories of boats will be able to take part in the Classic Boat Show: vintage and classic sailing and motor boats from 4 to over 40 metres in length, historical wooden or modern dinghies with traditional lines, motorboats, canoes, rowing boats or skiffs, fishing boats with motor or lateen sail, even with an electric motor. As far as exhibitors are concerned, space will be reserved for trade associations, artists, marine and naval portrait painters, shipwrights, traditional shipyards, naval craftsmen and toolmakers, naval museums and design studios, sailmakers, marine-style furniture, clothing and themed bookshops.
