The dream of many Italian collectors comes true: recovering the first registration plate of their historic car

The original license plates of historic cars are like the identification bracelets worn on the wrists of newborns.

Or like the labels that certify the quality and harvest date of a fine wine, on a vintage bottle.
"APPLAUSE" to the recent implementing decree of 4/8/2023 which provides for "the right to obtain the registration plates of the first registration in the Public Vehicle Register, or to obtain a plate from the historical period of construction or circulation for the vehicles of interest historian and collector".

The implementing decree will enter into force on the day of its publication in the Official Gazette and will be applicable from the sixtieth day following.
The historical plates restore the technical and aesthetic integrity of the vehicle of interest to the collector.
There were thousands of requests for original plates, so the President of ASI, who passionately supported this resolution, declares that he is satisfied on behalf of all collectors and enthusiasts of vintage motoring.
The history of the plaques —which dates back to the end of the 19th century—-is long, interesting and full of curiosities.
Typical are the black plates, in existence from 1927 to 1976, made of metal, with a black background and white characters.
Throughout their history, the plates have undergone variations and modifications, for which they are also the object of the amateur market.
