From 19 to 21 May 2023, at the same time as the 15th edition of Yacht & Garden, the exhibition-market of Mediterranean garden flowers and plants, Marina Genova will host the first edition of the Classic Boat Show. An unmissable opportunity to discover the world of classic yachting and the boats that animate it, both sailing and motor boats. Anyone, subject to acceptance by the organising committee, will be able to moor their own vintage or classic boat and make it available for visits for the purpose of sale, hire, or to share this passion with other enthusiasts. Smaller boats (classic and wooden sailing dinghies, motorboats, runabouts, canoes, rowing lances, goiters, rowing skiffs, etc.) will be placed on land, even on a roadside trolley, facilitating the meeting of supply and demand.
Boat owners, model-makers, artists, craftsmen, painters or associations will be able to apply to attend the 1st Classic Boat Show free of charge. In view of the number of berths and land areas available, each application will be assessed in advance by the Organising Committee. THE FLEET, FROM ULTRA-CENTENARIES TO "MODERN CLASSICS
Among the "queens" of this 1st Classic Boat Show is certainly Barbara, an 18-metre Bermudan yawl launched in 1923 by the British yard Camper & Nicholsons, which in Genoa celebrates the important birthday of its first 100 years at sea. This boat has been reborn after a restoration carried out by the Viareggio-based Del Carlo shipyard, also responsible for the refitting of the 1914 auric ketch Tirrenia II present at the Show. Among the sailing giants was the 47-metre-long Bermudian schooner Gweilo, designed by Dutch firm Dykstra & Partners and built in wood in Turkey in 2009. Today this 'modern classic' is for sale. Not to be missed will be the 1994 29-metre-long cage schooner Pandora, a wooden replica of an old 19th century post, which has already been used as a floating set for numerous films and television productions including 'Elisa di Rivombrosa' and 'The Lions of Sicily'. Also on the quayside were the 1954 Brick II, the 1951 Coppelia, the 1946 Jalina, the 1960 Sangermani Tulli and the 24-metre Paulena from 1966, available for charter cruises, the 1964 auric schooner Amore Mio, the 1932 Greylag, the multi-award winning One Tonner Ojalà II celebrating half a century since her launch, the 1976 Moro di Venezia, and the 15-metre motoryachts Glemhat and Sally, a 20-metre Burger 60 model. There is great curiosity about Coffee, a 9-metre-long Bermudian sloop that has just been launched. This boat, conceived and self-built in triple mahogany planking by a Parma architect, contains interesting design solutions that will not fail to arouse admiration.

KNOTS AND MANOEUVRES ON BOARD THE "YOLE OF BANTRY
Kinder Boat is the initiative that involves teaching knots and seafaring manoeuvres on board the Bantry Yole "Creuza de mä", an approximately 12-metre-long replica of an ancient rowing and sailing lance from the 18th century that inspired an educational programme, launched in 1984 and called Atlantic Challenge, dedicated to the seafaring training of young people. A true small 'school ship', which can accommodate up to 10 rowers and hoist three sails, of which there are more than 50 replicas around the world that compete every two years in the Contest of Seamanship.

ARTISTS, PAINTERS AND MODELLERS, EXHIBITIONS AND CRAFTSMANSHIP
At the 1st Classic Boat Show there will be no shortage of artists, painters and craftspeople linked to the world of traditional seafaring, starting with the Genoese watercolour painter Emanuela Tenti, who over the years has become a point of reference for numerous boat owners to whom she has immortalised their vintage boats. On the other hand, La Spezia artist Silvia Scarpellini, owner of the Sbalzidimare Art Studio, will be the protagonist of live demonstrations on how to create "embossed" subjects on thin copper plates that create an evocative three-dimensional effect. The "Mastra Feltraia" Romina Dogliani and Lucia Pozzo, writer and captain of the historical sailing boat Tirrenia II, will perform public demonstrations on felt working, both in the nautical and gardening spheres. The sea, mermaids, and flying fish on boards, sculptures, and canvases will be the subjects of the exhibition "L'Acquario delle Meraviglie" by Salvatore Bonajuto, a versatile artist from Catania.
