Great success for the 16th edition of the Bergamo Historic Grand Prix
The 16th edition of the Bergamo Historic Gran Prix attracted an enthusiastic crowd to the stands of the Bergamo Walls.
Bergamo, Italian Capital of Culture 2023 together with Brescia, relives a serene spring, full of historical and cultural events.
Bergamo Historic Gran Prix conceived and organized by Simone Tacconi, confirms itself as a sporting spectacle that grows more and more over time with many foreign crews; the passage of many selected Italian and foreign creations, unrepeatable for mechanics, design, style, arouses emotion.
An attractive surprise was the “Le Mans style” start on Viale Colle Aperto.
Among the 69 participating cars, 20 pre-war - single-seaters and 49 GTS, including authentic "rare pieces" and cars with a prestigious sporting pedigree.
To name a few: among the pre-war cars, the 1939 Maserati 4CM-CL, the 1928 Maserati 26 B, the 1935 Fiat Coppa d'Oro, the 1926 Amilcar, the 1927 Riley, as well as extremely rare "pieces" such as the Alfa Romeo Ala Spessa from 1939 and more recent single-seaters such as Tecno and F. Italia.
Among the curiosities, also one of the 12 Formula Junior Patriarca ex Little Tony. While among the GTS practically all brands and models were represented, in addition to the large group of Alfa Romeos (including GT, GTAm, Zagato, Spider 2000 Touring) and Ferrari (250 GT, 308 GTB, 208 GTS), Mercedes 300 SL " Gullwing”, Fiat Abarth Zagato, Lancia Fulvia, Porsche 911 in various versions, as well as Jaguar and MG, Shelby Cobra, Austin Healey.
At the wheel of a 1969 Alfa Romeo GT Junior, former F.1 champion and official driver of the Milanese company Bruno Giacomelli.
Once again, the "old ladies" of historic motoring dominated the scene, amused the public and satisfied the pride of their crews.
