A rare MARCH Porsche 84G.03 "KREEPY KRAULY"
This week we present a rare example of March Porsche offered on the market by a well-known broker, by Kelly Dietrick, owner of the Exceptional Car Broker.
March Racing consisted of four men: Max Mosley (M), Alan Rees (AR), Graham Coaker (C) and Robin Herd (H). March produced 83Gs, for Group C and IMSA/GTP.
Two of these cars went to South Africa to be used by the new Kreepy Krauly team.
Sarel Van De Merwe (a well-known name in South Africa) would lead the team to a victory at the 1984 24 Hours of Daytona event by car 83G.04, the sister car to 84G.03.
Our protagonist raced between 1984 and 1986 on historical circuits and events such as Road Atlanta, Road America, 24 hours of Daytona, Le-Mans, Nuburgring, Monza, Spa, Silverstone, Brands Hatch, Mount Fuji, Riverside and others.
After retiring from professional racing at the end of 1986, 84G.03 passed into the hands of well-known racers and collectors. It competed in the 2018 Rennsport Reunion, raced at the 2019 Monterey Motorsports Reunion and the 2019 and 2020 Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona Heritage event, as well as other historic racing events.
In 2019, at the hands of its current owner, 84G.03 underwent an expert race-ready mechanical rebuild by the 901 Shop in Southeast Florida, with receipts totaling nearly $85,000 and additional $20,000 in receipts from Amalfi Racing.
It has been repainted and currently wears the livery of the 00 wrecked at Road Atlanta. It comes renewed with a recently FIA Historic technical passport (valid until 2025) and complete restoration documentation.
The 84G.03 is an extraordinarily easy car to drive; it is currently proposed on the market and is looking for a new driver to return to racing on the circuits, follow the link of the announcement: https://www.oldcar24.com/announces/29833/march-porsche
