The Alfa Romeo 2600 Sprint Zagato is presented at the 1965 Frankfurt Motor Show, it is the evolution signed by the Zagato bodyshop of the A.R 2600 Sprint from which it differs in an original aesthetic and a more Spartan set-up, which make it snappy, agile and more aggressive.
Very few examples are produced and sold, only 105 between 1965 and 1968.
The wheelbase of the bodywork compared to the Sprint is shortened by 8 cm, the interior is more spartan and the lack of insulating coatings make it lighter, 120 kg less. Aesthetically, despite being more spartan, the interior appears sportier with leather upholstery, dashboard with wood inserts and shiny chrome profiles in various parts of the passenger compartment.
The front of the car features ovoid headlights and a huge Alfa Romeo shield in the center, a large triple-curved windshield, a large rear window and a recessed truncated tail.

The Alfa 2600 Sprint Zagato was intended for an even more elitist public than the 2600 Sprint; an audience who wanted a sports car with an original aesthetic and high performance at the same time.
The list price in 1965 was 4,163,400 lire, five times the average price of a small car of the period and was for a few; as mentioned in the video by Alex De Angelis (owner of the Promotor Classic), Sophia Loren used to drive this car at the time.
