Alfa Romeo Giulia
Is the automobile a woman? Is politics a woman? Success is in the name?
27 June 1962: the Alfa Romeo 'Giulia' is born, the first production saloon destined for long success.
22 October 2022: sixty years later it is a modern Giulia that accompanies Italy's first female Prime Minister, 'Giorgia' Meloni, to the solemn swearing-in ceremony at Palazzo Chigi.
Fascinating female names that mark important moments in our political, productive and creative history, with a tinge of grace, elegance and style.
An all-Italian style, like the 'Stromboli grey' of the presidential car (produced in the Cassino factory) on the bonnet of which waved the two institutional flags: the tricolour and the coat of arms of the Italian Republic.
The story of the Giulia started from a project by Orazio Satta, Giuseppe Busso, Ivo Colucci for the bodywork, and Giuseppe Scarnati of the Alfa Romeo Style Centre, 1962.
The Giulia TI ushered in a new generation of sports saloons with cutting-edge engine technology, a five-speed gearbox, a rigid but lightweight body, a reinforced passenger compartment, body design and an unusual truncated tail, a detail that elevated its aerodynamic quality.
The Giulia TI was called the car 'designed by the wind' because its line was calculated in the Turin Polytechnic's Wind Tunnel.
This beautiful sports car was widely appreciated by motorists and was produced until 1977, only to be revived in later models.
