Luca Cividini had engines in his blood and heart. He raced in motor racing, when he was not yet called 'Enduro', and participated in many rallies throughout northern Italy, before work commitments forced him to stop; but he has always remained an 'inside' driver.
Indeed, he had that sensitivity in driving that only those who love cars and know their intrinsic characteristics can have.
We have thrilling memories, when facing the Serravalle or the most inaccessible paths of the Bergamo valleys: the back straightened, the gear climbed and the car instantly responded to the firm foot on the accelerator. And the passengers .... despite some discomfort, they were calm because they knew that there was a professionist behind the wheel who was able to control the vehicle and was aware of what he could give them.
This love for engines was also reflected in the choices of cars, sporty yes, but never conspicuous. He has owned several Maserati, BMW M3, Golf GTI, a single Porsche ... one of his historic Maseratis regularly participates in vintage car rallies and its owner is very proud of it: today, as almost thirty years ago, it is splendid and it gives satisfaction to drive it.

From the memory of this love for engines, the initiative of 9th October was born.
Not a random date because it will be the third anniversary since he passed away due to a glioblastoma. To this painful experience, we wanted to react by joining others to found the Brainy Association (www.associazionebrainy.com), which collects funds to finance scholarships, IRCSS and research laboratories that specifically deal with gliomas, that is more aggressive brain tumors which, in most cases, have a bad outcome for the patient.
To remember Luca and help the Brainy Association, we organized the Luca Cividini Trophy, a kart race in the new Bergamo Kart Indoor in Osio Sopra, which can be easily accessed from the Dalmine exit of the A4 motorway.
The trophy includes three categories of participants: men, women and guys under 18. After the test laps, the times will be recorded and the trophies will be awarded to the absolute best of these three categories. But since the spirit is certainly decoubertinian, there will be a souvenir medal for each participant and activities on the sidelines of the tournament, especially for children under 1.5 meters, who cannot access the karts; then, at the end, a good dish to greet us in joy.
It is an event organized thinking about how much Luca would have enjoyed it and, for a day, we would like to experience his driving emotions. Imitating him will be difficult.
