Milan celebrates Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee
Milan celebrates Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee with the Queen's Birthday Party at the Snai San Siro Racecourse.
The event was part of the government's 'Great' campaign, promoted by the British diplomatic representation in Italy.
The event followed those in Naples, Rome and Genoa, and was chaired by British Ambassador Lord Edward Llewellyn and Consul General in Milan Catriona Graham. "I am particularly delighted to celebrate Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee here in Milan, in such an iconic location," commented Llewellyn. "Milan is the economic and financial capital of Italy, so the commitment of our International Trade Department has been deep in this city for many years.
