PIT STOP FOR THE HEART AT REB CONCOURS
The Villa di Fiorano on the Appia Antica, a splendid period residence, will be the stage on 14-15 June for the 70 spectacular historic cars of the third edition of the Reb Concours (Rome Eternal Beauties).
The event, with the support of the Automobil Club d'Italia and the Aci Storico club, has become a not-to-be-missed appointment not only for the most important collectors in Europe, but also for a number of personalities from civil society who have accepted with great fondness to participate as jurors. Compared to other major elegance contests held in many parts of the world, where the jury is composed of top experts, in the case of the REB the winners in the individual categories were awarded by representatives from the worlds of institutions, diplomacy, art, film, literature, fashion, music, architecture, design and journalism. The choices are irrespective of manic originality, perfection of restoration or rarity of the model. Instead, the judgement is based on vertigo, on the sensations that 'that work of art' managed to convey. 'As beautiful as Rome' is the main prize and is awarded by the president to the car that most moved him.
The first novelty of the 2022 edition is the appointment of Gianni Letta as Honorary President of the Reb Concours. As for the jury, it will be chaired by the Minister for Sustainable Infrastructure and Mobility Prof. Enrico Giovannini. Among the jurors: Lord Edward Llewellyn, UK ambassador to Italy, oncologist Francesco Cognetti, president of the Confederazione Oncologi Ematologi Cardiologi, entrepreneur Tomaso Trussardi, and conductor Beppe Vessicchio, the director of the national press agency LaPresse Alessia Lautone, entrepreneur-winemaker Gelasio Gaetani d'Aragona Locatelli, journalists Franca Leosini of RAI 3, Simona Branchetti of TG5 Mediaset and Maria Leitner of RAI TG 2.
Two conferences are scheduled: 'Youngtimer: the great Italian GTs' and 'Itala per sempre. Pechino-Paris 1907'. The Reb will also be an opportunity to celebrate Jaguar's 100th anniversary. The concert of the State Police Fanfare on the final day is highly anticipated. In addition to the competing cars, there will also be an opportunity to admire the extraordinary cars from the Turin Car Museum and the historical collection of the State Police.
