The exclusively spectacular and traditional Lake Como is going to present the most beautiful classic automobiles of all the time from 26 to 28 March.
Magical atmosphere is created for three days every year in Cernobbio, where viewers enjoy the mix of the past and the present and where they are privileged to admire the most rare and beautiful automobiles and motorcycles in the world from the combustion engines to the concept cars. The Concorsi d'Eleganza Villa d'Este has taken place every year since 1929 and is described as one of the most important international events in the world and collectors from all over the world will participate. The beauty contest for historic cars is staged by BMW Group.
This year the event will be held under the motto "Around the World in 80 Days– Voyage through an Era of Records”. The Beauty contest will welcome its viewers with an excursion through the XlX century, before the invention of the car, where the world travellers had already used transports as trains and ships.
One of the biggest attraction for the visitors will be the category of Concept Car and Prototypes where it will await viewers unique examples of valuable creations built by famous designers, that testify their creators' vision and perspective on the future of mobility.
The possibility to express their satisfaction towards featured models of the show of Concourse d'Elegance Design will be given to the viewers; moreover they will be able to play an important role in granting the awards according to their opinion.
Furthermore, during the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este will be auctioned by RM Sotheby's many prestigious classic and vintage cars and motorcycles.
The show will feature 51 rare automobiles coming from 16 different countries. The competition where these cars will challenge each other will be divided in 8 classes.
Class A – " Demons of speed: pioneers of endurance in the Golden Age";
Class B – "Travel with style: the world tour in 40 years";
Class C – "Goodbye jazz, welcome radio: at full speed in the 30s";
Class D – "Faster, silent, slender: heroes in the jet era";
Class E – "The Grand Tour continuous: the following 40 years";
Class F – "Fast and showy: playboys' toys";
Class G – "Supergioiello: big boy toys";
Class H – "In the spirit of speed: whizzing throught decades".
The 40 selected motorcycles are divided into 5 classes:
Class A – "Dreams and adventures – Motorcycles of 20's and 30's for the Great Journey";
Class B – "The alternatives – Scooters of 50's that don't come from market leaders";
Class C – "The originals – The Street Scrambler 70's of Japan";
Class D – "Made in Europe – The Four of 70's with the new look";
Class E – "The design of the motorcycle – New concept bike and prototypes".
The program from 26 to 28 May:
From Friday, 26 May during the day at Villa Erba visitors will admire featured vehicles that on Saturday will be sold at RM Sotheby's auction.
On Saturday, 27 May at 14:00 the Street Run of the motorcycles will start from Villa Erba to Villa d'Este. In the afternoon the public will enjoy the opportunity to give the award "Coppa d'Oro Villa d'Este" to the winner.
On Sunday 28 May, the 51 cars and the 40 motorcycles will be presented in front of the large grandstand in the garden of Villa Erba where the winners will get their rewards. Finally during the evening the jury composed by some international experts will give to the winner the last and most prestigious award for the automobiles: the "Best of Show" at Villa d'Este.
