ALFA 1750 SPIDER VELOCE, OSSO DI SEPPIA
Sweet life? High class? Unmistakable style ... here is the DUETTO 1750 USA version
Red like the intense sensation of driving with the wind in your hair, behind the wheel of a car that, as it passes by, makes those who see it turn around, as if it were a beautiful girl. It’s difficult to say what it feels like to face this masterpiece of the automotive design created by a team of formidable designers from the Farina factories, led by Aldo Brovarone and Franco Martinengo, under the watchful eye of Battista "Pinin" Farina. This sports car is fascinating because of the great formal quality thin volume: an ellipsoid, like a cuttlefish bone, the mollusk shelll from which it took its nickname. In fact, the tapered bodywork has the same essentiality of a natural organism, whose shape perfectly expresses function: aerodynamics. Produced from 1966 to 1994, the Duetto 1750 Fast Spider on display, despite having been made in 1970, is still the "cuttlefish bone" model. One of the most loved and sold cars of all time, it owes its consecration as a cult object to its participation as a true star in the famous movie "The Graduate” (1967), starring a young Dustin Hoffman. Vittorio Gassman, prince of actors, accompanied its debut in the United States, led by Steve McQueen and other celebrities.
