Classic and Youngtimer Cars and Motorcycles Auction at Milano AutoClassica

One of the most outstanding cars is the 1973 Porsche 911 2.7 Carrera (lot 29, estimated value €190,000 - €270,000), in concours condition, in its original India Red colour and with its original black leatherette interior (matching colour). The car is one of the few 2.7 Carrera delivered in Italy in 1973, with its original equipment engine (matching number), the legendary 210 hp 2.7 with mechanical injection of the classic 6-cylinder boxer engine, exactly the same engine that was fitted to the legendary 911 Carrera RS of 1972.
The 2005 Mercedes C55 AMG Performance Pack in the catalogue was built at the AMG plant in Affalterbach and is one of only nine produced worldwide. Of these 9, only 3 have been homologated for road use and one of the three is the car at Milano AutoClassica. The exclusive Performance Pack includes the installation of a V8 propulsion unit revised in many components with an overall power upgrade to 410 hp and a self-limited speed of up to 280km/h. The exhausts are dedicated to this very rare version, with separate, hand-welded headers wrapped one by one and the 19'' rims are detachable and dedicated to harmonize with the exclusive front spoiler with oversized air intakes (lot 23, estimate 24.000 - 60.000)
An undisputed icon for the Biscione marque, with the intact charm of the 1960s, which led from the Dolce Vita to the economic boom, the 1969 Alfa Romeo GT Junior 1300 "Scalino" (lot 24, estimate €25,000 - 45,000), was presented in 1963 as a replacement for the Giulietta Sprint. Built on the Giulia berlina floorpan, but with a 235 cm wheelbase, it was an elegant 2+2 coupé (two seats in the front and two smaller ones in the back) designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro for Bertone. The car on offer at auction was first registered in 1969, but is part of a 1968 production lot. In fact, it is one of the last examples of the so-called first series. 
One of the most significant examples, both from a historical and a collectors' point of view, is the 1927 Fiat 509 S Zagato, of which there are only three examples in the world (lot 27, estimate €100,000 - €150,000). The one displayed at auction with chassis 32022673 was bought by Rigoletto Belli, a Fiat dealer in Terni and a gentleman driver who was quite successful in races at the time. After his successful debut in the Terni Passo Somma, winning first place, in 1927 Rigoletto Belli raced the 509 S in the Coppa della Perugina (fifth), the Terni Passo Somma (first) the Vermicino Rocca di Papa and the Tolentino Colle Paterno. The car was given the number plate TR1000, which it has kept over the years to this day.

The passion that runs high for Wannenes doesn't end with the cars, as there will also be classic motorbikes, including a splendid example of the MV Augusta 750 S America from 1976, one of only 212 produced that year. The 750 America was created at the request of the American importer, Chris Garville's Commerce Overseas Corporation, who in 1974 asked MV to produce a motorbike suitable for the overseas market. It was sold new in Britain and was modified at the time by the owner, who had the frame painted red to match the red of the Ferraris in his collection. Imported about ten years ago by Alessandro Altinier, it has never been restored and is an important collector's item for any motorbike enthusiast (lot 8, estimate €80,000 - €110,000).
