Alfa Romeo 6C on the exhibition at Villa d'Este in Cernobbio: Luxury made in Italy
For the first time, on 22nd April Villa d'Este Style will present the world's rarest model Alfa Romeo 6C, the symbol of magnificence, constructed in 1950.
Only 36 examples of wonderful Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 SS Villa d'Este have been produced between 1949 and 1952 in collaboration with automobile coachbuilder Touring Superleggera from Milan.
The car was designed by Carlo Felice Bianchi Anderloni to pay tribute to the famous concorso di eleganza for the automobiles that has taken place at Villa d'Este (Cernobbio, Como) since 1929. In 1949 this beautiful Alfa - one of the last handmade cars - won "Coppa d'Oro Villa d'Este". Under the car's hood there is a 6 cylinders motor in line by 110 CV coupled with a manual four-speed transmission.
The sixth edition of Villa d'Este Style celebrates again the magnificence of this coupé. It is going to be open to the public and will involve the rare examples of 6C 2500 SS Villa d'Este. The meeting will take place in Piazza Risorgimento in Cernobbio, on the lake shores where the enthusiasts can admire parterre on Saturday 22nd April from 15:00 p.m. to 17:00.
" On Saturday 22 April, fans of vintage cars and tourists will share the occasion to watch a true spectacle on wheels and learn about the history of innovation, design, technology and motors. We are very proud of being part of this special moment" - said General Director of Villa d'Este Hotels.
The event sees participation by the FCA Heritage and the Alfa Romeo Museum that will expose two 6C 2500 and the single-seater Alfa Romeo G.P. Tipo 158, nicknamed "Alfetta" that won the first World Championship, 1950 Formula 1.
