It is the Ferrari 250 GT California, year of birth 1960, that is the "Beautiful as Rome" car. This was decided by Gianni Letta, president of the jury at the Roma Eternal Beauties-Reb concours, held in the incomparable splendour of the Acquasanta golf club in Rome. The Cavallino spider attracted a lot of attention and aroused strong emotions. In its category it had to contend with an Aurelia B24 in elegant blue Lancia livery and the aggressive Mercedes SL 300 roadster.  But in the end, it was the sleek lines of the California, an absolute masterpiece by Pininfarina, that made the president's heart leap. A model that is repeatedly on the classic car auction list.
At the Reb Concours, there is no assessment of the maniacal precision of the restoration or the rarity of a model; the president and jurors (chosen not for their specific skills but as representatives of civil society) have to make their judgments on the basis of personal emotion. And on the Acquasanta green it was a three-day event of intense emotions.

A total of 70 models were entered in the competition in various categories. Among the French cars, Antonio Di Bella, RAI's New York correspondent, felt love for the Citroen DS21 Chapron coach-coupé model Le Leman; among the Porsches, Tommaso Miele, president of the Corte dei Conti del Lazio, chose a 1969 Carrera 2000 S; Tomaso Trussardi was enchanted by the Lamborghini Miura; Nicola Bulgari, who had to choose between the English cars, declared the victory of a '37 Bentley with a Gurney Nutting body; Cesara Buonamici, a Tg5 journalist for Aci Storico, awarded the prize to a '51 Ermini (there were three, but she - as a Florentine - preferred the one with the original "FI" number plate); national Base coordinator Marco Bentivogli was seduced by the space and feeling of freedom of a 1951 Buick Roadmaster Woody. Michele Placido would have driven home happily in an all-blue Austin Healy. And there's more: Mariella Mengozzi, director of the Museo dell'Auto, would do anything to have the 1912 Lancia Epsilon, which raced in the '13 Targa Florio, on display in Turin. Former Economy Minister Giovanni Tria had no doubts about awarding the spider prize to a Jaguar XK120 OTS. Another Jaguar XK 150 was judged the "most televisual" by producer Luca Bernabei, CEO of Lux Vide. Yari Gugliucci, eclectic theatre actor, imagined bringing a gleaming Porsche Speedster 356 on stage.

Thanks to the presence of Alfa Romeo, it was possible to admire the 2900 8C and the 33 Stradale from the Arese Museum. For the occasion, Alfa Romeo presented its latest jewel: the Giulia GTAm. For the special prizes, Hetica Capital gave its 'Reserve of Value' award through Cesare Fiorio, a member of the Hetica Klassik Technical Committee, to the Aurelia B24. A Mercedes 190 SL was judged 'Timeless car' by global manager Luca Castellani of the watch maison Parmigiani Fleurier. The Gentlemen drivers award 2021 was won by a splendid 1929 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Sport. Finally, the prize awarded by the Circolo Golf Roma Acquasanta went to the 1957 Gilco Cisitalia Abarth 110.  During the Reb Concours Aci Storico, together with Moto Guzzi, celebrated the 100th anniversary of the brand with some very representative examples of Italian motoring on two wheels.  As in the last edition, guest judges and competitors were welcomed by the State Police Fanfare. All contributed to a fundraiser for the Circolo San Pietro, the Vatican charity that organises the "mensa del Papa" for the Capital's needy citizens, whose president Niccolò Sacchetti welcomed a prestigious visitor, Cardinal Francesco Coccopalmerio, to the Reb.
