The new investment fund for classic cars: Hetica Klassik Fund
Investing in vintage and historic cars has paid off and will continue to pay off
Masterpieces of motor technology, design and style constitute a heritage of the highest monetary and cultural value. At last, in order to increase investment in this sector, a Fund under Luxembourg law has been set up on the initiative of the Swiss HETICA Group, based in Zurich. The Fund will purchase important vintage and historic cars, including those in need of restoration, which will be kept in a garage located in Switzerland and specially equipped for the proper preservation of the vehicles, surveillance and careful maintenance by specialised personnel. The purchase price of each car should be between 30,000 and 6 million euros. Countries of origin include Europe (UK and Switzerland) and North America.
The classic cars will be promoted through concours d'elegance, historical re-enactments and educational events aimed at young people, in order to pass on the knowledge and value of these creations of human genius. The Fund is already accessible to investors and it will soon be possible to purchase certificates listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
In Italy, the business value of classic cars is estimated at around 2.2 billion euros, because it includes their purchase, maintenance and restoration by highly specialised craftsmen; the rallies of classic car owners who, by recalling famous events in the history of automobiles, attract participants from all over Europe, and a large public of enthusiasts, with considerable repercussions on tourism and the local economy. The Fund's technical committee includes such prestigious experts as Cesare Fiorio, former Ferrari sports director and winner of 18 world titles (Lancia and Fiat), and Mariella Mengozzi, director of Turin's Automobile Museum.
