MASERATI-1971/2021. 50 YEARS OF THE BORA AND THE NEXT GRECALE
Strong winds are blowing at the House of the Trident. 2021 will bring high-end car enthusiasts the new Maserati called Grecale, named after the Greek wind that blows in the Mediterranean.
Fifty years have passed since the presentation of the Maserati Bora, baptized like the other cars of this luxury series with the name of a wind, in this case the north wind, which the people of Trieste know well. Super car with mechanics by engineer Alfieri, twin cam V8 engine and bodywork designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, built by Officine Padane of Modena. It was preceded by the famous Ghibli (1966/67), the wind of the Libyan desert, produced in the Ghia workshops also in spider version in only 125 examples, one of which was used in the French film La Piscina, with Alain Delon, in 1969. Mistral, the cold wind of Provence, gave its name to the 1963 Maserati designed by Pietro Frua and considered one of the most beautiful cars made by the Modenese company.
To the hot wind of the Egyptian desert, Kamsin, is dedicated in 1973 the homonymous luxury 2+2 coupé designed by Marcello Grandini and built by Bertone.
In 2016, Maserati is inspired by the Levante wind, cool and humid; car defined as "sculpted beauty"; with V8 power, it has the characteristics of an suv without sacrificing elegance.
Grecale, Maserati's next passenger car to be produced in 2021, is an suv proposed with both electric and thermal engines.
