The first Jaguar E-Type left directly from Coventry, the headquarters of the English car manufacturer. At the wheel was Jaguar test driver Norman Dewis, who drove the car from the factory to Switzerland where it was presented at the Geneva Motor Show, back on 16 March 1961 and was a huge success, thanks to its sleek and at the same time muscular line; a masterpiece by Malcolm Sayer and Sir William Lyons, also praised by competitor Enzo Ferrari, who defined the car with the most beautiful line in the world. It is the car of true connoisseurs: the perfect expression of form. The Jaguar E-Type Convertible remains one of the most admired cars ever at Concours d'Elegance around the world.

One example also belonged to Franco Maria Ricci, the late, great collector and aesthete, and is on display in the Labirinto della Masone house museum (Fontanellato, Parma).

The protagonist of our report is the first evolution (1967-68) of the E Type, unofficially called Series 1 and a half. It differs from the Series 1 in the absence of the glass front light fairing (on Series 1 the front lights had glass covers), the elimination of the door armrests in the passenger compartment and other details in compliance with US safety regulations. This car has been meticulously restored with original British parts, from the engine to other elements. It comes with the Jaguar Heritage Certificate. It has travelled only 1,000km since its restoration in 2016 and is in concours condition, ready to take part in the most exclusive events.

It is offered on the market by the Classic Car Carpi dealership.
