DISCOVERY EXTRAORDINARY COLLECTION OF CARS IN JAPAN
A Japanese collection or "Treasure Island"?
Ken Saito of Jalopnik discovered and photographed an extraordinary "deposit" of rare cars belonging to a Japanese collector and dealer. Some of these very expensive cars are Italian. Let's start with a Pagani Huayra produced since 2011 by Pagani Automobili of San Cesario sul Panaro(Modena). This formidable car, which does 370 km/h, has been baptized with the name of a wind god of the Andes civilization. Its design lasted more than 7 years and represents the most technologically and aesthetically sophisticated in the automotive field, its monocoque is made of carbotanium, a combination of titanium and carbon, which offers maximum resistance to "yield stress".
The second surprise was a yellow Koenig Testarossa, a masterpiece of the 1980s from the house in Maranello, reworked by Koenig Specials in Munich.
This car has a story, because it was donated by Michael Jackson to Mike Tyson - the fearsome American heavyweight who then resold it out of necessity. And now it is in the Japanese collection of about 100 cars, along with a fabulous Lamborghini Countach, which owes its uniqueness to Marcello Gandini's bodywork for Bertone.
Among the foreigners, the visitor discovered a jewel of the Porsche, the 911 GT3, and the Porsche 962 dressed as Rothmans, the famous cigarette brand sponsoring various races.
