Milano Autoclassica – auction totaling more than 51 million Euro, has attracted collectors from all over the world
The auction at Milano Autoclassica, staged on 27th November was the largest automotive themed collection sale ever held in Europe. Beyond capturing the attention of the global collector community, it resulted incredible number, more than 51 million Euro in total sales. The halls of Fiera Milano were hardly able to host all auction contests. During 30 hours of three-days auction, 817 lots were sold at the Fiera Milano that saw participation of 5.000 people hailing from 57 different countries, 83% of which enrolled into RM Sotheby’s database for the first time. In contrast to the estimation of the auction house the cars were sold at the higher prices due to an incredible number of enthusiasts and fans of vintage cars attending the show, with the intention to take home their dream antique automobiles at very affordable price, sometimes even at a lower than a real market price. But the situation changed almost immediately after the first lots were sold at exorbitant prices; in fact, frenzy, emotions, major economic uncertainty and lack of security provided by banks have brought Italians and foreign purchasers to pay prices way higher than the real values of the cars. It is a clear explanation why investing in vintage cars is one of the best choice to make, with a bigger growth values than other investments. This trend is not going to stop anytime soon because, the most of the times, it is connected to a great passion for cars that is spreading throughout the world, including even developing countries. Below we represent you the pictures of top ten automobiles of the auction and other photos taken by the oldcar24’s team.
