Alfa Romeo are expected to fetch up to $ 20 million at RM Sotheby's
Some of the most rare and prestigious vintage cars belonging to the most famous collectors will be exposed at the Monterey auction organized by RM Sotheby's on 19th and 20th August.
You are spoilt by choice with so many fascinating cars. The collection Sam & Emily Mann includes the real highlight of the event, 1939 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B Lungo Spider (estimated at the impressive amount of 20 million dollars), but also a Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Competizione “Tour de France”(8 million dollars), a 1908 American Underslung 50 HP Roadster (about 500.000 dollars), a Bentley 3-4½-Litre Tourer (about 600.00 dollars) and a 1926 Miller Locomobile Junior 8 Special (about 750.000 dollars). Other exclusive individual pieces are for example a 1962 Ferrari 268 SP Fantuzzi (one of the 5 still existing exemplars) that has already won the Platinum Award at Cavallino Classic event held in 2001. How can anyone remain indifferent in front of the 1962 Shelby 260 Cobra “CSX 2000” that has belonged to Carroll Shelby?
Jim Click will put on a public display some of the pieces from his Ford Performance collection such as a 289 Cobra “Competition”, a GT350, a Boss 302 and a 1966 GT40 Mk1 racing coupè (estimated value between 3,2 and 3,7 million dollars). At the auction there will also be the Jaguar D-Type “XKD 501” from England that won Le Mans in 1956 and was the first D-Type car built by Jaguar and given to a private team “Ecurie Ecosse”, established in 1951 by David Murray from Scotland.
