In 1965 the Geneva Motor Show presented a Giulia GT da competition, with the A added to the acronym, which stands for "lightened" weighing 250 kg, in fact the body is in light alloy of aluminium, magnesium zinc and copper called Peraluman 25, highly resistant. It cost 3 million lire, today it is offered for sale by Alfaholics for € 360.000 It was a winning machine in 1966 in numerous races in Italy and abroad. 1° 2° 4° absolute place at the Six Hours of the Nurburgring of 1967; 1st and 2nd overall in Castle Rock Colorado 250 Miles. In 1968, on the causeway of Monza, at the 4 Hours he raced at 240 km/h ! It was in the 1960s to travel the state and provincial roads which were not very frequent, but very rough. Italian phenomenon !
