Fiat 508C have won at Superba Circuit
Veteran Car Club Ligure was able to gather many crews not only from all over Italy but also from foreign countries. A real moving museum of pre-war cars has celebrated the “Commemoration of Superba Circuit” with the wonderful Ligurian landscape on the background. The show has begun in Genoa, where the verifications of the automobiles, strictly certified by Asi, were carried out; this vintage collection is a faithful witness of the automotive history.
The historical caravan left on Saturday from Rapallo and arrived, along Riviera del Levante, in Sestri Levante.
After a little break with white wine and focaccia, the crew, comprising national president of Asi have arrived in Genoa at lunch time. Later they have visited Genoa aquarium where they have also enjoyed a gala dinner. The following day, in the morning, in Corso Italia, on the Genoese’s beloved seafront for the occasion traffic-free road, was held a regularity competition. The race attracted particular attention of the public.
During the regularity competition, Gian Paolo Billi with 1938 Fiat 508C won the five laps race. According to the final results the second position has been taken by Michele Pestarino with MG TF followed by Enrico Scotto with Lancia Artena.
Among many beautiful automobiles appeared in the event is important to mention a 1915 Lancia Theta Sport, a 1914 Buick Touring 25, a 1933 Singer le Mans from France, a 1936 Riley 9 Special, a 1929 Riley Brooklands and many other. The festival was concluded with a lunch and the price giving ceremony at Park Hotel on Corso Italia.
