Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione: the classic of the future
A saries of masterpieces in the name of excellence
Alfa Romeo was founded in 1910, therefore celebrating 110 years. In the historical past of the "Biscione" house, an Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 called "Monza" was already present in the 1930s, built in only 10 copies. As the nickname indicates,it was the bearer of various triumphs in the Grand Prix and piloted by the best known champions of the time.
Produced in extremely limited series, the sumptuous 8C 2009 B,Touring bodywork, was defined,at the end of that decade of the twentieth decade of the twentieth century,"the fastest production car in the world"! (230 km/h).
It had a great success at the Mille Miglia 1936.
A special 8C B Berlinetta was created in 1938 to challenge the cars competing in the 24 Hours of Le Mans; unique, compact and aerodynamic in the bodywork design created by Touring. It could reach 240km/h. After these historical ancestors, the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione reappears,in a limited series, between 2007 and 2010, in the coupè ( 500 units ) and spider models, uncovered variant, (329 units).
In 2006 the spider model, signed by Marazzi, won the Jury prize at the Concorso di Eleganza at Villa d'Este " Design Award for Concept Cars & Prototypes". Both the Coupe and the Spider are elected the most beautiful of the Competition for popular verdict. The interiors are luxurious, the wraparound and protective seats. In 2010 the 8C is defined "Classica del Futuro" by an English survey.
The winning streak can continue.
The Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione coupè red you see in the service is on sale at the Curated dealership specializing in Vintage Supercars.
