MERCEDES BENZ 300 SE CABRIOLET, ONE OF THE LARGEST CARS IN THE HISTORY BERCEDES BENZ, NOBLE RELIABLE AND CONFORTABLE

Mercedes Benz 300 SE, model W 112, presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 1962. A luxury car that rapresented the best of the German home of that period. Relevant personalities of politics and cinema of those years appreciated or bought this beautiful car. It's line and its charm need no comment... climbing on board the interior in pure German style,with walnut briar, bachelite on the steering wheel and leather interior. The 300 SE Convertible was produced from 1962 to 1967 in only 708 units. Such a small number, which today makes it sought after and is evidence of how at the time it was for the few; in the sixties,a car with such generous displacment,of an emblazoned brand like the Mercedes Benz, was a symbol of luxury combined whpith refinement and elegance, thanks to Paul Bracq, now become a famous painter.

German reliability, unbridied luxury and aesthetics,born from the pencil of a painter, are all elements that today, after 57 years from its presentation,make it precious as an important work of art.
The most luxurious 300 SE version was born in 1962, as Mercedes top range, standard air suspension, automatic or manual gearbox, becker car radio, multi -layer hood, power steering and endless list of options, from sample color air conditioning. As evidence of the sublime construction quality of the W112, it is important to say that the Stuttgart - based company adopted strict passive safety design principles: the cockpit was formed by a solid cage reinforced with steel tubes, and the body was subjected to resistance tests spectacular. In fact, numerous versions of the 300 SE, even in other configurations,have been involved in institutional events and evenin rally competitions has been favored by the remarkable power of the 300 SE, single- shaft 6-cylinder engine on the head, capable of delivering 160 hp in the first series that allowed to reach a maximum speed of 190 km/h and subsequently, the second series saw a ulteriote addition of 10cv which allowed the important vehicle to reach the top of 200km/h, presentations of all respect considering the vehicle’s period and size.
The other versions were produced later, 250 SE, 280 SE 3.5 with 8 - cylinder engine, 200hp, speed 210 km/h, lower and wider frot grille, almost all the models had 4 headlights. After 1971 you will have to wait 21 years to finda 4 -seat Mercedes Benz Cabriolet on the list, with the W 124 series from the 1990s designed by Bruno Sacco.
