The collecting of historic cars is a source of positive emotions, because they aren’t static, in fact they are renewed every time we drive them, every time we take care of the bodywork, and every time we host someone for a pleasant journey, especially if it is a sedan ALFA ROMEO 1900. The classic car gives strong satisfactions, because it is usually rare, it is no longer in production and it has a history, therefore memories. It took part to the Mille Miglia; Fausto Coppi owned one, and there are still other stories.. The Alfa Romeo 1900 1951 sedan, produced at the Portello plant in Milan, was considered a "truly modern" car, because it was born with the personal supervision of the Turin engineer Orazio Satta Puliga , specialized in the automotive sector and particularly active in Alfa as director of design and then as general manager. The engine of the 1900 is due to/was created by the highly appreciated Turin designer Giuseppe Busso, who dedicated his entire life to the mechanics of all the winning Alfa Romeo models.

THE STORY OF THE ALFA ROMEO 1900 WITH THE LICENSE PLATE FG 9602
This is about the first series Alfa Romeo 1900 sedan with chassis No. 917, which has been completely regenerated in all its parts of the original engine, mechanics, upholstery, electrical system and bodywork. The car, which today circulates regularly, had only two owners besides the collector who restored it carefully and following the lines of the Alfa Romeo originality of the time. On September 21st, 2018 this sedan obtained the A.S.I. ratification with gold license plate and it is registered in several specialized sites, including foreign ones (among the many see "alfacompanion.com/alfa1900" photo paragraph - frame 10937). As we know, the Alfa Romeo started the "assembly lines" only in 1952, so this car, dating back to 1951, was built and assembled by hand. This made it very difficult to find the original pieces for the restoration, but today it gives to the car an unquestionable value and higher collectible value. This "AR 1900 sedan first series, six seats", which was purchased/bought by the Count Pavoncelli of Cerignola on  January 15th, 1952, in addition to photos dating back to the day of purchase and those of the restoration, it is also provided with license plates and all the original documents, namely the circulation and car radio stamps until it was stopped in a warehouse (dry and well ventilated) in the late sixties.
THE ALFA ROMEO 1900: THE SEDAN OF THE FAMILY THAT WINS THE RACES

ELEMENTS THAT CHARACTERIZE THE 1900 EQUIPPED WITH ENGINE 1884 cc

The AR 1900 first series, which has a displacement of 1884 cubic centimeters and then raised after 1975, is characterized by flat front beacons, bumper-free bumpers (on the rear there is still the dealer plate), circular rear lights and inserted in the fin that has been eliminated in the following series; the door handles open clockwise and the boot handle is missing, which can only be opened with a special lever in the parcel shelf. The lock (the prestigious cars of those years had mainly the right-hand drive) is placed only on the right-side door. Another feature of this first series is the lack of a fuel supply flap, which is instead located inside the boot next to the spare wheel.

THE ALFA ROMEO 1900 SEDAN THAT WINS THE RACES

The first police car was an Alfa Romeo 1900 sedan. Thanks to the black color, the front with the three-lobed and the slanted front fenders, it recalls the profile of a feline affectionately called "Pantera", a name that still today identifies the powerful cars in service of the Police bodies. After the numerous sporting successes (it ran several times and won the famous Mille Miglia), in an advertising slogan of the time it was called "the sedan of the family that wins the races".
