­­­­­­­­­In front of them, there is the ancient headquarters of the watch factory founded in Switzerland, in 1868, by the watchmaker Florentine Ariosto Jones, who was from Boston. He came from the United States to improve his techniques by the Swiss masters of advanced technologies. In 150 years of history, the company has experienced many seasons. When the founder returned to Boston, the company was taken over by local industrialists. One of the first successful products was the special Pilot's Watch for aviation pilots.These timepieces for flight professionals are still highly appreciated. The Spitfire series is dedicated to the famous fast fighter aircraft of exceptional technology, symbol of the Second World War and of vital importance for the resolution of the conflict. During summer 2019, an original 1943 Spitfire "Silver", carefully restored even in its silver livery, will take off from London for an expedition, flying around the world. It was designed by the founding pilots of the Boultbee Flight Academy (Goodwood, Sussex) 1st  recognized flight academy in the world, as a training school for Spitfire. IWC is a partner of the Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Youth Foundation, which is committed to helping children and young people in difficult circumstances. On 29th – 30th  March 2019, IWC is the main sponsor of the Milano-Sanremo Cup Historical Re-enactment, a prestigious vintage car race born in 1906.
