STYLE LESSONS: "Marcello Gandini-Hidden Genius"

Great style lessons! Exhibition not to be missed on the car designer MARCELLO GANDINI (born in 1938); name that does not echo, like others, in the ears of ordinary people, but very well known to connoisseurs all over the world. Considered as a revolutionist of automotive design, Gandini was for many years the head designer of the Bertone body shop (Grugliasco, To), where he produced cars with a new and unmistakable line. Typical is the "wedge" shape, almost cutting, of the front volume, which connects with a single profile, almost flat, to the rear volume. Lover of a design of abstract geometric clarity, Gandini is at the same time a careful observer (Leonardian?) of the rationality and the aesthetics of nature. His ALFA ROMEO 33 Bertone CARABO (1968) is inspired, even in the iridescent color, to a green-golden beetle. The doors of the LAMBORGHINI COUNTACH are raised as an elitre in the passenger compartment. What about the supreme LANCIA STRATOS (1970), concept car, later modified in rally car, successfully used in the 57th Targa Florio; and of the aggressive LAMBORGHINI MIURA, and of the DIABLO SE 30 (1993) of the anniversary of the thirty years of the foundation of the S.Agata Bolognese brand?
