GREAT COLLECTIONS FOR LARGE AUCTIONS
The rare Wiesenthal Collection of Mercedes Benz from 1952 to 1986 are on sale at the prestigious old auction house, DOROTHEUM classic car auction in Vienna at the Austrian National Library on 1 December 2018.
Gunther Wiesenthal first started buying and selling Mercedes Benz cars in 1920.
In 1932 he was appointed sales manager for the German Company in Austria and later he was promoted to head of exports in Stuttgart.
After the end of the Second World War, in 1955, he founded the headquarters of Mercedes Benz in Salzburg.
After his early death, his daughter Susanne Sulke-Wiesenthal and Patrick Graf Douglas continued to grow the prestigious collection and to add new acquisitions to the collection of rare historical models of Mercedes since 1970, including the 600 Pullman, the most expensive car in the world.
The collection also includes the prototype of the famous "Seagull Wings" coupé. Until their deaths, Susanne and Patrick continued to grow the collection and today it offers 13 of perfectly restored, the most important and luxurious models of Mercedes Benz. Here is the list:
