12th edition of Trofeo Milano
Silvio Trombetta and his co-driver Giorgia Pierri at the wheel of Porsche 912 were the first to cross the finish line and win the victory of 12th Trofeo Milano.
Despite the rain during the competition on Saturday afternoon enthusiastic drivers with 108 beautiful classic cars and 50 motorcycles were able to reach their destination. The route of competition for both cars and motorcycles started in hangar Milan Linate airport and was then divided in two parts. The cars had to take the road to the Castle of the Visconti in Pandino while motorcyclists had to ride towards the center of the city to Castello Sforzesco, passing through Piazza della Scala. Motorcyclists where the first to cross the finish line in Cortile delle Armi welcomed by the "barbiere di Siviglia" performed by 50 students.
In just some hours, Castello Sforzesco became part of the international motor racing history where all of the enthusiasts had a possibility to admire the vintage vehicles. The day ended with the concert of "Fanfara della 1° Regione Aerea dell'Aeronautica Militare".
In keeping with tradition, the winner was awarded by the cathedral's spire and luxurious watch BREITLING Transocean Day & Date.
Special awards were also given in the vintage, post vintage, youngsters, loyalty award, centuries-old vehicles categories. It is also important to highlight the best duo female drivers of the event : Airaghi Anna Lucia with Airaghi Giannina and Annalisa Bellante with Lucia Ballio.
Differently from cars, motorcycles were awarded with less competitive criteria, drawing attention to style, appropriate clothing and the model that came the farthest way. In memory of the 13th edition of Trophy's winner Gigi Guffanti, an award was given by his name. During the evening, with the help of Aste Bolaffi were auctioned off three particular works created by students from Istituto Europeo di Design, about mobility. The proceeds were donated to charity organization Buzzi's children hospital.
